Chapter 11 blog

Our Senators for the state of Tennessee are Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker. The Congressman for district 3 in which I live, is Charles Fleischmann. Both Senators and Congressman share my views on abortion, and life beginning at conception. All agree on banning federal funding coverage including abortion. As a mother, this issue is particularly important to me. How anyone can abort a fetus and it be protected under the mother's right to privacy is completely beyond me. It is murder, plain and simple.
Charles Fleischman voted for the Title X abortion act, prohibiting federal family planning assistance to an entity unless the woman is raped, a victim of incest, or a medical disorder endangering the life of the woman. (May 2011)
I disagree with Senator Bob Corker, and his opposition to changes in the second amendment (April 2013). While I am pro gun rights, I do not feel that a typical American citizen needs high powered assault rifles, and high capacity magazines. Those weapons are designed for our police and military. A magazine holding more than 10 bullets only enable mass shooters to create more casualties and injuries.

  2. I have to say I disagree with the gun thing. I feel that we should have no limit to the weapons we own. I am pro gun all the way and if I want an assult rifel to defend myself I feel as an American I have that right. If you think about it these crooks and bad evil people are not going to listen to gun laws and when they end up with te choice to have these guns do you really think they are going to be like I'm not suppose to have this gun so I wont get it.

  3. I agree 100% with you on abortions. I have children also and cant imagine how people could KILL a child. Yes i believe its murder too! I also agree with you as far aswe should be allowed to have guns but i agree with stacey that we should be able to have any kind of gun we want. Americans have always had guns especially here in the south. I dont believe thats the problem. Media and no education on guns is the problem. You dont blame a car for a drunk driver so why blame the gun (that is not my quote but it is true). I am pro gun all the way also

  4. I agree with you on abortion. Like you, I believe life begins at conception. I can't believe some people try to rationalize getting an abortion. To me, its murder, and I don't think I will ever change my mind on that. There are only certain cases where I think abortions are ok (like if the baby has no chance of surviving and the mother probably won't survive without the abortion) but those cases are rare. On the 2nd Amendment issue, I have to disagree however. I don't think citizens need fully automatic weapons either, but I think magazine size restrictions are wrong.

I definitely agree with the gun thing. I am for gun rights also, but some of the guns I see people own is just crazy. I guess that could a little invading and losing some since of privacy, but I agree that a gun with that many bullets is unnecessary. I heard a guy say once that it shouldn't take a guy 20 rounds to kill a deer. So yeah, I am on the bridge about that one.

  6. We have the same senators but my congressman is John J Duncan. I agree with you to an extent with the guns. I don't feel civilians should have military issued typed guns in their possession. I disagreed with all the the Air Marshall program of the Homeland Security of ours wasting frivolously our tax payers hard earned money.
